Step outside, it's broad daylight. Step inside, it's a starlit night.

This summer, we're darkening our tea room and filling it with candlelight, turning the ceiling into the Milky Way — right in the middle of the afternoon. A canopy of bamboo leaves and wishing tanzaku, a hand-poured tea ceremony, a matcha latte you whisk yourself, and a wish written for the year ahead. Four drinks.

One afternoon.

A story as old as the stars.

A Katakuchi is a versatile spouted bowl. While it’s ideal for preparing matcha, it can also be used as a stylish server for sake, dressing, or even as a unique milk pitcher.
