About the event
The beautiful Japanese Kimono, as we know it today, dates back to the Heian period (794-1185). The artistic motif on each Kimono reflects the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Today Kimonos are still worn for weddings, funerals, and special occasions.
You will learn the history of the Kimono, how to wear it, and how to coordinate it. In addition, students will learn about four different types of Kimono: Furisode, Tomesode, Houmongi, and Yukata.
We will then showcase three types of these kimonos in a mini fashion show, while you enjoy some traditional Japanese sweets and tea.
At the show's end, you can try on and shop from an exclusive selection of Kimono.
