"TROIS" Afternoon Tea by à la maison

With summer behind us, we usher in our next two themes for September and October Afternoon Tea at à la maison.

We will take a brief break in November and return in December for a special holiday season Afternoon Tea event.

<September : Timeless Classic~Low Tea>

Did you know that high tea was originally a meal enjoyed by the working-class family just after 5pm? What we have come to think of as high tea is, in fact, afternoon tea, or low tea, served mid-afternoon and traditionally on low tables, thus the name. Afternoon tea (low tea) is traditionally a light meal of scones, finger sandwiches, jams, marmalades, citrus curds, and flavored butter, accompanied by teas such as Earl Grey, darjeeling, chamomile, and mint.

For this month we will take this basic idea of low tea and gild it with our own à la maison touch!

<October : Autumn Flavors>

The word autumn immediately floods our senses with thoughts of fall colors and flavors. Warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, and sweet treats like apple or pumpkin pie beckon. Thoughts of cozying up with a good book and warm cup of comforting tea make fall special.

Join us in October for an afternoon of heartwarming tea and comestibles at à la maison!
